Journey to becoming a P&D musician :
My journey started when I was in cadets where I fell in love with the sounds of the pipes and drums. The complexity of the snare mesmerized me and I was hooked!
I then went through a few bands including Sons of Scotland, Sam Scott Memorial and Air Command. It was at a Trenton tattoo, during a Mud Men concert, that I was approached by Rob McCarthy who asked if I could teach snare drum to cadets to which I happily agreed.
A few months later, he informed me that he was looking at forming a band with his brother Allan. At the time, the band was named the 78th Fraser Highlanders of Ottawa, later became the Ottawa Caledonian Pipes and Drums.
Best Band Story :
Every Highland games has its special moments. There are too many great memories to point a single one out..
